1 c white syrup (such as Karo)
2 c sugar
1/2 c water
2 c raw spanish peanuts
1 1/2 tbsp butter
1 scant tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
2 tsp soda
Cool white syrup, sugar and water to string stage to form a 4" thread.
Add peanuts.
Cook and stir constantly and watch until light tan.
Turn off heat and add remaining ingredients (butter, salt, vanilla and soda)
This all goes in very fast, stirring as little as possible.
Pour out on greased cookie sheet. Do not stir after pouring on cookie sheet.
Note: Works best on a dry day. If it's raining or really humid, forget it.
